Jane Cruz - President

Jane Cruz has dedicated 49 years to education, leading adult high schools and supporting over 60,000 learners annually in programs like high school completion and career training.

She co-founded the Hispanic Leadership Alliance, awarding 164 scholarships, and was recognized as Virginia’s Outstanding Adult Educator in 1998 with a total of 12 years spent on the ACEF board as well.

Vice President - Carolyn Harding

Carolyn Harding has 27 years of experience in education with FCPS, specializing in Adult ESOL, where she oversaw multiple centers and large student groups.

She also led the Virginia Adult Institute for Lifelong Learning and was named Virginia’s Outstanding Adult Educator in 2000, with 10 years on the board for ACEF.

Secretary - Tracy Burkey

Tracy Burkey has been with FCPS since 2016, serving as a school counselor at Lake Braddock Secondary, where she helps students navigate academic and personal development, including post-secondary options.

With a passion for trade jobs and certification programs, Tracy encourages students to explore alternative career paths and believes ACE offers valuable, affordable opportunities for education and training.

liasion for FCPS ACEc - Lois Passman

A long standing and dedicated member of the Fairfax County School Board’s Adult and Community Education Advisory Committee (ACEAC), Lois Passman serves as one of the founding members of the ACE Foundation.

In her various roles with the Foundation, Lois has been instrumental in obtaining corporate philanthropic donations, as well as substantial individual and estate stock portfolio donations, to support the ACE Foundation’s Scholarship Programs, daily functions, and operations.

Treasurer - Dolly whelan

Dolly Whelan has over 30 years of experience in adult education, serving as an Administrator and Specialist for Adult Basic Education, GED, and Adult High School Completion Programs for Fairfax County Public Schools, where she supervised over 30 teachers and managed a $1 million budget.

She has been recognized for her work with multiple awards, including the Virginia Association for Adult and Continuing Education's Outstanding Adult Educator and Distinguished Service Awards.

CIO - William Brown

William Brown has over 17 years of experience in federal cybersecurity oversight, specializing in privacy assurance for critical systems and IT infrastructures. He is a board member of the Fairfax County Adult and Community Education (ACE) Foundation and a Silver Life Member of the NAACP, actively supporting adult education and civil rights in his community in Fairfax County, VA.

As an ACE Foundation Board Member, he provides strategic vision and practical support for the Foundation’s mission: Providing scholarships to adults, who live or work in Fairfax County, VA, and seek to enhance their employment capabilities and prospects with Construction & Trades Apprenticeships, and Health/Medical and Business/IT Certifications.
